What treats are in store?

Day One – Friday 25th November

14:00 – We will meet you at the Bird Hotel for a delicious, Festive Afternoon Tea

15:30-17:30 – You will set off though the streets Jane Austen would have known, including The Circus, Gay Street and Queen’s Square, accompanied by an expert guide who will share stories about Georgian Bath, towards the iconic Royal Crescent.  No 1. Royal Crescent is a museum decorated and furnished just as it might have been during the period 1776-1796 and at this time of year, the house is dressed Christmas. Wander the rooms and discover the true spirit of Christmas past.

17:30 onwards – free time to enjoy Bath’s magical Christmas market. With 170 wooden, fairy light strewn chalets set against the city’s stunning World Heritage surroundings, it has been voted one of the 10 best Christmas markets in Europe.

Day Two – Saturday 26th November

09:00 – Breakfast the The Bird and check out

10:00-11:30 – A fascinating talk, ‘The Genius of Jane Austen‘ with local lecturer and writer Dr. Gabrielle Malcolm (author of Fan Phenomena: Jane Austen and There’s Something About Darcy) in The Bird Hotel’s Glass Room.

You can then set off for home, or leave your luggage safely at the hotel and spend the day exploring Bath – the city is brimming with brilliant boutiques, inspiring independent stores and irresistible restaurants, cafes and bars. It’s wonderfully walkable too!

With so much to do, you might want to stay an extra night – just let us know and we can make your wish come true!
