Enjoy the grace and charm of early 19th-century society with guided period dancing, traditional refreshments and a fascinating talk by Dr Gabrielle Malcolm, Austen scholar and author, who will share insights into the world of Jane Austen and her timeless appeal.

What Pleasures Await During this Most Festive Gathering
An engaging 90-minute dance workshop dance with Jane Austen expert, Theresa Roche.
Theresa will provide you with an introduction to ballroom etiquette/introductions/rules/late suppers/dancing until dawn and examples of characters in Jane Austen’s novels breaching the etiquette to great social opprobrium. She will also share her insights into how a Regency Christmas differs from the celebration we know today and introduce you to that fascinating Regency method of communication and romance, the language of the fan.
Please bring a pair of flat soft shoes or trainers to dance in.
